ROPT collects millions of data points daily from a wide variety of sources. Our highest priority is to process this data reliably and make it available in ROPT extremely quickly. As the nature and scope of our tools and analytics become more complex, we decided to migrate to AWS (Amazon Web Services). We can only say: The effort was worth it!
Read the interview with our experienced development partner NFQ to learn more about using AWS for an Amazon Analytics tool.
Cloud is more flexible and imposes less restrictions and limitations on how you can run your business software. Moreover, there are 5 areas which AWS focuses on to ensure best results for the business.
In every single mentioned area, AWS has specific technologies, best practices and case studies to justify its advantages.
ROPT uses Kubernetes which is designed to scale and scaling with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) is effortless.
Resources elasticity is the key property here. You can scale up/down your environment at any time based on your workload size.
This is one of the core advantages that enables it to ensure high performance when it is needed at the same time and have optimal costs when workloads are decreased.
We are configuring a combination of rules that monitors system workloads and adds or removes extra resources once certain thresholds are hit.
NFQ has been providing AWS services to its customers since 2013. In 7 years NFQ managed to serve dozens of international customers from various industries (travel, fintech, catering, shared economy etc.). Some of our referenced customers are HomeToGo, Home24, Casevacanza, Eatfirst, Alaiko.
Speaking of future trends, we see tremendous interest from the market to leverage the advantages of AWS serverless technologies and data warehouse solutions. And it applies not only for specific businesses with certain requirements. Both technologies are already widely used and deliver significant value to various industries.
Serverless services: AWS Lambda helps customers to run their code without managing or provisioning any servers. Customers don’t need to worry about the underlying architecture.
These types of solutions fit very well for short-running tasks where you don’t need to customize the OS environment. And you pay per invocation of service rather than spending money on keeping server resources running all the time and waiting for the workload.
We also see that customers want to leverage out their data more deeply. Besides essential business intelligence insights, that are mostly answering the question “what has happened?“, Customers are more and more thinking about creating data lakes and running predictive analysis which is mostly about “what will happen next?” That is where AWS Redshift services can help.
Seeing huge interest in mentioned technologies, NFQ is focusing to invest a lot in building up and maintaining competencies to support those market needs.
The setup is very simple and done in a few minutes. We are happy to provide personal support.
Whether one-time analysis, self-service use of the Marketing Suite or as a managed service – we have the right solution for every brand.
